Winchester MP says more to do on unemployment – the initial reaction by Steve Brine to the news that UK unemployment has fallen to 7.1%, with a massive boost in the number of jobs created.

Steve told Winchester Today that he is also pleased that the December 2013 JSA claimant figure in Winchester is 0.9% – a full 2% below the national average of 2.9% – but insists more needs to be done:

“There is not an ounce of complacency in me or the Government but this is clearly very good news and is testament to the hard work of local businesses which have been growing and creating jobs.

“There is plenty more to do but Winchester continues to have a strong and diverse economy and that is good news for us all.”
