Two Dead In A34 Crash | Winchester Today

Two people have died following a single car collision on the A34 at Three Maids Hill on Monday evening.

Police say a car was travelling southbound on the A34 at Three Maids Hill just after 6.30pm when – for reasons yet to be established – it left the carriageway and ended up on its roof.

A woman inside the vehicle died at the scene.  A man inside the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he died a short time later.

It’s believed that both the deceased are pensioners.  Inquiries are being conducted to identify and trace next-of-kin.

The A34 was closed southbound at Bullington Cross whilst a full collision investigation was carried out, with traffic diverted through Winchester.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is urged to contact PC Matthew Clayton at Whitchurch Roads Policing Unit on 101.
