Winchester Storm Warnings | Winchester Today – As we write this around 9pm on Friday evening (14 Feb), communities across Hampshire are being warned to heed advice and warnings as high winds and heavy rain are predicted over the next 24 hours.

During Friday night, winds are set to peak between 70 and 80mph.

Highest risk will be along the coast, although strong gusts are also likely inland as well.

People living in areas vulnerable to coastal flooding should keep an eye on weather forecasts and Environment agency flood warnings.

With the ground saturated, further flooding and fallen trees are expected and Hampshire County Council will have crews on around the clock at the weekend and has diverted resources to help keep Hampshire moving.

Around 40-50 extra staff have been moved to Highways to help the relief efforts in more than 100 communities across the county.
