The sun shines over Naomi House in many ways.
Yes, that may be difficult to understand, bearing in mind we’re talking about a hospice.
Yet the generosity shown by 10,000 people means that the building has been able to benefit from a £4m makeover, bringing smiles and laughter to so many faces. The sun has shone in their hearts. The building has now been opened under a clear blue sky – yes, the sun definitely shines over Naomi House.
A transformed Naomi House has now been unveiled to the public after a project that has taken 19 months and cost £4million.
Yet, judging from the smiles and radiant sunshine on our visit today, it is evident that the staff and families at Naomi House Children’s Hospice believe it has absolutely been worth the wait.
As you will see from our video, and hear from our interview, Alastair Stewart – the charity’s appeal patron – was assisted by 3-year-old Mikey Strachan to cut the ribbon and unveil the hospice to more than 100 invited guests.
The refurbishment means that local children can now receive respite, emergency, end-of-live and bereavement care in one of the world’s most modern and technically advanced hospice facilities.
