The developer behind the Silver Hill development in Winchester has been given until 9 February 2016 to come up with the necessary planning conditions – or Winchester City Council will terminate its agreement.
Silver Hill Developer Given 25 days – Ultimatum ‘To Secure The Best Scheme’
A spokesman told Winchester Today that the ultimatum had been given to Silverhill No.1 Ltd / TH Real Estate following the Cabinet meeting on 13 January, as it still wanted the best possible scheme to redevelop the run-down area. The Cabinet considers the best option right now is this scheme, which is sometimes referred to as the 2009 scheme.
The spokesman went on to say that the council is giving the developer the maximum time available to meet the conditions so that the scheme can become ‘unconditional’ and go ahead.
He told us that if the developer does not meet the 9 February deadline, Cabinet will meet on 10 February and notice will be served to terminate the agreement. This will give the developer a further 20 working days before the agreement is terminated.
