Winchester’s MP Steve Brine has taken to Facebook to express his delight that the Chancellor has pledged support in the budget for a dedicated Emergency Department for Children which will be based in Southampton.
Steve is pictured in the Facebook posting holding up the Budget’s full details. “I guess it’s not often my constituents scrutinise the Budget’s red book, but page 93 puts our £2m for Southampton’s Children’s Emergency Department in black and white! It will offer bespoke care for young people in a ‘child friendly’ environment – instead of them having to use busy adult A&E services.
Speaking immediately after the Budget from the House of Commons, Steve said; “This has been such a focused campaign and it’s picked up huge momentum in short time. Clearly the Chancellor heard our case.
