Students at Peter Symonds College are celebrating what appears to be another outstanding year for A Level exam results. The College’s excellent pass rate has been maintained once again at 99% with over a third of the grades awarded being at A* or A.

At A level a total of 490 students achieved at least two A* or A grades, and 275 achieved at least three A* or A grades. Over 300 of the A* grades awarded were in the subjects of Mathematics and Sciences alone.

A Level Success Across Hampshire – Tireless, Commitment, Dedication

The Principal is Stephen Carville: “The tireless hard work, commitment and dedication of our students and staff have clearly paid off: a truly stellar performance by so many young people. These excellent results will be the launchpad to happiness and success. I am immensely proud of these staggering achievements.”

189 students who studied the extended project qualification alongside their A Levels or AS Levels achieved either A* or A grade.

Among the college’s high achievers is Matthew Pawley, formerly of The Clere school, who achieved A* in Economics, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics as well as an A in AS level Chemistry. Matthew is looking forward to studying Mathematics at Cambridge University or Imperial College London.
