Winchester Today is delighted to now be able to bring you the Great Destinations Radio Show – a fantastic listen on ideas for your long-haul holiday break or shorter weekend. Last Saturday we discovered the delights of Santa Fe – this Saturday (12th November) it’s Vienna. Look at all those cakes!
The Great Destinations Radio Show launched in May 2016, aimed at 35-64 year old travellers. On Winchester Today it airs across two hours, every Saturday lunchtime from 1pm – 3pm.
The show is presented by Keri Jones (pictured) who has a huge amount of radio experience from radio stations across the UK. You’ll love his warm style of presentation – and he’s not afraid to tell it how it is, either! The best thing about it for us – and what was pretty essential really – is that Keri is actually there at the Great Destination, not just sitting here in the studio talking about something he’d never been to. Day 1 was about Santa Fe, and Keri was actually there.
Elsewhere the programme can now be found on around sixty UK radio stations, in destinations as diverse as the Scottish Highlands to the Scilly Isles and Norwich to Pembrokeshire, so we’re in great company.
Keri presents a mix of features, on-location reports, reviews and expert interviews to inspire curious and interested travellers. Each week he shares stories and travel tips from two professional travellers – a travel blogger and a travel writer. There’s a weekly segment on staycations, hobby holidays and travel technology, too.
If you once backpacked but now expect some convenience and comfort as you learn about the history, culture, food and unique experiences around the world, this is the show for you. Affordable travel and money saving tips are a strong theme of the programme. The listeners don’t want luxury at any cost!
