Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust has apologised to Sky News presenter Colin Brazier, after he received a letter asking his wife Jo to attend a breast cancer screening in Hampshire.

Jo Brazier died from breast cancer early in July, aged 55.

Colin posted a tweet last night (Wednesday) explaining what had happened.

Replies from viewers included words like “shocking”, as well as comments suggesting the same thing has happened to them, even 2 years after diagnosis and being allocated an oncologist.

One of the replies was from Hampshire Hospitals themselves, saying that they were “very sorry for the distress caused” and that they would “look for any lessons that can be learned.” Though, as you can see, that line was also criticised.

Colin himself later tweeted again that mistakes happen and it was an “irritation” – but also said it was something that needed noting.
