Crash

Two men have died after a crash early this morning on the Alresford Road in Winchester.

Officers were called at 6.30am to the B3404 Alresford Road, following a single vehicle collision one mile east of St Swithun’s School.

The Blue Ford Fiesta had been travelling in the direction of Winchester when it left the road and collided with a tree.

Both the men in the car – in their 20s and from the Alton area – died as a result. Their next of kin have been informed.

Hampshire Police day they would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the vehicle driving in the area prior to it.

They say they know that the vehicle stopped at the BP and Marks & Spencer filling station on the A31 at Four Marks earlier in the morning, before carrying on towards Winchester.

They’re asking anyone in that area who may have useful information to contact them.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101, quoting incident 44190142001.
