The British Army has used Winchester as the backdrop for a powerful new film about Remembrance.

The video shows a soldier from the Great War who suddenly finds himself in Winchester’s High Street – but nobody can see him.

He cannot even be seen on the screen of a mobile phone as someone takes a tourist ‘snap’ by the Buttercross monument further up the High Street – even though he is clearly visible to us, standing in front of them.

Finally, he is seen by a young girl as he sits by the monument outside the Cathedral, wondering why no-one will acknowledge him.

The films then gains more colour.

At the end, there are three simple words: Pause. Reflect. Remember.

The actor involved – Geo Campbell – is actually in the Scots Guards.

He’s tweeted to say that it was an absolute pleasure to do the video, and that it has a “strong message.”
