2200: An Ipsos Mori exit poll conducted for the BBC, Sky and ITV is predicting a convincing Conservative win in the General Election.
The poll predicts 368 seats for the Conservatives, 191 for Labour, 13 for the Liberal Democrats, 0 for Brexit, 55 for the SNP, 1 for the Greens and 22 for others – that’s a majority of 86 for Boris Johnson, and the lowest number of seats for Labour since 1935.
Labour’s Barry Gardiner told Sky News that if the exit poll is true it is “devastating.”
The pound surged by almost 2% on the news.
Later, Lib Dem leader Jo Swinson lost her seat in East Dumbartonshire.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said he would not be leading the party into the next election.
